It can be hard to find the words for how we explain our chronic pelvic pain but this sums up a typical day in the life.
Spending the time most people would be living a normal life style, being exhausted from activities having to pace through the big flare ups sending us into excruciating pain, nausea and fatigue which is a large learning curve when you want to live like everyone else.
Unable to carry out daily activities due to tough pain it overwhelms daily activity, it takes the ability away from us to just get things done with a flare up or that burning acheing deep in the pelvis.
Missing plans and activity’s due to pain and fatigue having to weigh up whether you can travel long distance or take being out for a period of time.
Organising relief for what ever the day will bring it really is more to it than just heading out the door, there is so much to consider like medication, heatpacks and how you feel at the time as to how the day might go!
Hiding how much pain we’re in daily, whether we like it or not life still carries on and we have to as well pain or not. Living that double life suppressing the pain and exhaustion to act normal out there.
Feeling upset, guilty and frustrated that we can’t do things we used to do easily, missing our old selfs all the time and the strength we once had.
Always thinking how we’re going to manage the day or week ahead is always constant. This extra energy we have to find and always be prepared mentally for the pain we endure.
Constantly pushing ourselves to do activities, that we will need hours to recover from sometimes doing these activity’s can be much harder its a quiet battle we endure.
Struggling to explain all the above without feeling terrible about it.
